Short answer
A PowerPoint file usually uses more fonts than you think: the two theme fonts for headings and body, every font someone set by hand or brought in with a copied slide, and separate fonts for bullets. If one is missing on the recipient's computer, Microsoft says fonts, layout and styling change and special characters turn into rectangles. This tool lists every font with the slides it is on, shows which are embedded and names a free counterpart for well-known fonts, such as Carlito for Calibri. Replacing takes one step for the whole file, including masters, layouts, charts and notes. One 87-slide test deck contained 5 fonts, one of them embedded.

Keep in mind
- The tool shows which font the file asks for, not whether it is installed on your computer
- A new font runs differently: text gets longer or shorter. Look through the slides afterwards
- Better not replace symbol fonts like Wingdings, their characters stand for different letters in other fonts
- Text inside pictures and embedded objects does not change
How to do it in PowerPoint itself
Replace Fonts (Windows)
Home, Editing group, Replace, Replace Fonts. Pick the old font under Replace and the new one under With, then Replace. According to Microsoft this changes the font throughout the presentation.
Via the slide master
View, Slide Master, then pick another font pair under Fonts; that changes the theme fonts. With several slide masters, Microsoft says you have to do it for each master. Fonts set by hand stay as they are.
Embed fonts
File, Options, Save, Embed fonts in the file. Microsoft recommends embedding all characters so others can keep editing. Some fonts cannot be embedded because their maker does not allow it; on a Mac, embedding works from PowerPoint 2021, according to Microsoft.
Why nothing is uploaded
The tool runs as a program in your browser. The presentation is opened and read there, and you get the result as a download. It is not sent to Slaide or any other server.
The first time, the browser loads the tool's own code once, not your file. You can check this yourself in the developer tools under Network.

Why does a font show no slides?
Then it is a theme font or only sits in a master or layout: it applies to all text that has no font of its own. For the heading and body fonts that is normal.
What does "free counterpart" mean?
A font under a free license that comes closest to the one found, for Calibri that is Carlito with the same character widths. Slaide uses the same mapping when it displays imported presentations.
Can I change the font on all slides at once?
Yes, that is what Replace does here: the new font applies everywhere the old one was, including masters, layouts, charts and notes. Look through the slides afterwards, because text can run differently.
Does it work with .ppt files and on a Mac?
On a Mac, on Windows and on phones, yes, in any current browser. Old .ppt files, no: open them in PowerPoint and save as .pptx. Files can be up to 400 MB.
