To turn a Word document into a PowerPoint, upload the .docx above and create a free account. Slaide reads how the document is built. Designed pages, where text boxes, shapes and pictures sit at fixed positions (flyers, fact sheets, one-pagers), come over one to one: every Word page becomes a slide in the page format, and text boxes, shapes and pictures stay separate, editable elements in their place, with their font, size and colour. Text documents become slides by their headings: the title becomes the title slide, every Heading 1 and Heading 2 a slide, paragraphs and lists become bullet points, tables real PowerPoint tables, pictures stay pictures, and text that does not fit continues on the next slide. The result is a presentation in your Slaide library that you edit there or download as a .pptx. Microsoft's own export in Word for the web is English-only, limited to the First Release audience and being retired. If you want key points instead of your full text, Slaide's AI writes a designed presentation with speaker notes from the document.

How do I convert a Word document to PowerPoint?

Do I need an account?
Yes, a free one: Google, Apple or email, no card. Uploading works without it; the presentation is created right after you sign up, with no onboarding in between.
Does the layout of my Word page stay the same?
On designed pages, yes: every page becomes a slide in the same format, and text boxes, shapes and pictures stay in their place with their font, size and colour. Text documents without a fixed layout are laid out as slides by their headings instead.
Can't Word do that itself?
Word for the web has an 'Export to PowerPoint presentation' command, but according to Microsoft it is available only in English, only to the First Release audience, supports text only and is being retired. Copilot in PowerPoint can draft a presentation from a Word file if you have a Microsoft 365 plan with Copilot.
Are images from the Word document included?
Yes: PNG, JPEG and GIF images come along in their aspect ratio, on designed pages in their exact place. EMF and WMF graphics can be missing. The AI version reads only the text.
Which files work?
Word files in .docx format up to 30 MB, also from LibreOffice or Google Docs (File, Download, Microsoft Word). Save older .doc files as .docx first.
What if my presentation already exists as a PDF?
