Use the Slaide Chrome extension with confidence
The side panel is a collector and a handoff: you choose the pages, say what the deck should be, and Slaide plans and builds it in your workspace.

What the extension does
Click the Slaide icon or press Alt+Shift+S to open the side panel; it shows the page in front of you. Add the whole page, or highlight a passage first and add just that. Move to the next article and add it too, from the panel or with a right-click. The toolbar badge counts your sources. When the set is complete, write one line about what the deck should be, or leave it empty, and click Create presentation.
Everything after that happens in the panel: the plan appears for you to build or change, then the deck is built while you watch the slide count grow and keep reading in the browser. Where your research set is concerned, nothing leaves the browser until you create the deck: the pages and passages you add live in the extension's own local storage, so the set survives closing the panel, switching tabs and restarting Chrome. Open the finished deck in Slaide when you want to edit, present or export it.

Data and privacy
The extension does not collect browsing history or monitor tabs in the background. It stores the sources you explicitly add locally, so a set survives while you research. Site icons are loaded from the site you already visited, never through a third-party service. When you create the presentation, the source text, its metadata and your brief become context of one Slaide document. Product analytics, when enabled, contains only coarse event counts, the interface language and technical status codes, never webpage text, URLs, briefs or presentation content.
FAQ
Why does the extension ask to read data on all websites?
So that adding a page works on every tab, immediately, without an extra click first. The extension reads a page only when you add it, from the panel or the right-click menu, and shows the title of the page in front of the panel. It never reads pages in the background and never collects your browsing history.
Can I keep working while the deck is built?
Yes, that is the point. The plan and the build run in the side panel while you keep reading, and the toolbar icon shows a green dot while Slaide is working. You can even close the panel: the run continues on Slaide's servers, and the panel picks it back up when you reopen it.
Do I review anything before the deck is built?
Yes. The plan appears in the side panel first: build it, or say in one line what should change and Slaide reworks it. Only then does the deck get built, and you watch that happen in the panel too.
Do I have to sign in to the extension separately?
No. If you are signed in to Slaide in this Chrome, the panel is signed in too and shows your email. If not, the panel opens the normal Slaide login in a tab and continues on its own once you are signed in. There is no separate account, workspace or billing.
