Use the Slaide Chrome extension with confidence
One click turns the page in front of you into a presentation, or collect several pages first and build one deck from all of them. Here is what the extension reads, when, and what it keeps.

The Slaide extension opens a side panel in Chrome. “Turn this page into slides” builds a short deck from the page in front of you. For a deck from several sources, add up to 8 pages or highlighted passages, then create one presentation from all of them. The extension reads a page only when you add it, keeps your set in Chrome's local storage until you create the deck, and downloads the result as PowerPoint.
What the extension does
Two ways to a deck, both in the side panel.
Open the panel
Click the Slaide icon or press Alt+Shift+S. The panel shows the page in front of you.
One page, one click
“Turn this page into slides” reads that page and builds a short deck from it straight away.
Or collect sources
Add the whole page, or highlight a passage and add just that, from the panel or with a right-click. Move on to the next article and add it too. The toolbar badge counts your sources.
Create the presentation
Write one line about what the deck should be, or leave it empty, and click Create presentation. The plan appears in the panel for you to build or change.
Download or open in Slaide
Download the finished deck as PowerPoint from the panel, or open it in Slaide to edit and present it.
Plan and build in the panel
Everything after the click happens next to the page you are reading.
For a collected set, the plan appears in the panel first: one line per slide, with the sources each slide builds on. Build the deck, say in one line what should change, or discard the plan. On the free plan the panel says which slides are built before anything happens.
The deck is then built while you keep reading. The toolbar badge turns green while Slaide works. You can close the panel: the run continues on Slaide's servers, and the panel picks it up again when you reopen it.
Where your research set is concerned, nothing leaves the browser until you create the deck. The pages and passages you add live in the extension's own local storage, so the set survives closing the panel, switching tabs and restarting Chrome.

What Chrome asks for when you install the extension, and why.

The panel plans and builds with your existing Slaide account and plan, sends only the research you explicitly add, and uses the Slaide session you already have in this browser.
When something does not work

Data and privacy
What the extension keeps, and what it sends.
The extension does not collect browsing history and does not monitor tabs in the background. It stores the sources you explicitly add locally, so a set survives while you research. Site icons are loaded from the site you already visited, never through a third-party service.
When you create the presentation, the source text, its metadata and your brief become context of one Slaide document, and the source addresses stay with that document. Product analytics, when enabled, contains only coarse event data such as counts, durations, the plan, the interface language and technical status codes, never webpage text, addresses, briefs or presentation content.

Why does the extension ask to read data on all websites?
So that adding a page works on every tab immediately, without an extra click first. The extension reads a page only when you add it, from the panel or the right-click menu, and shows the title of the page in front of the panel. It never reads pages in the background and never collects your browsing history.
Can I keep working while the deck is built?
Yes. The plan and the build run in the side panel while you keep reading, and the toolbar badge turns green while Slaide is working. You can even close the panel: the run continues on Slaide's servers, and the panel picks it up again when you reopen it.
Do I review anything before the deck is built?
When you combine several sources, yes: the plan appears in the side panel first, and you build it or say in one line what should change. The one-click path, “Turn this page into slides”, skips that step and builds a short deck from the page straight away.
What does the free plan include in the extension?
The same as on the web: your first presentation is free, with a plan of up to 12 slides and the first 3 built. The plan shows which slides are included before anything is built, and free exports carry a small Slaide mark. Unlocking the rest opens the document in Slaide, and after checkout the remaining slides are built there. Paid plans start at €7.99 a month.
Do I have to sign in to the extension separately?
No. If you are signed in to Slaide in this Chrome, the panel is signed in too and shows your email. If not, the panel opens the normal Slaide login in a tab and continues on its own once you are signed in. There is no separate account, workspace or billing.
How many pages can I collect for one deck?
Up to 8 pages or highlighted passages per research set. The panel shows how many you have, for example “3 of 8”, and the toolbar badge shows the count as well.
